Icon4 2011 Cr-v high oil consumption

Hi , My relative recently bought a 2011 cr-v from a private sale with 140000 kms (87000 Miles) when checking the crv over he checked the oil which was full and when he got home he checked it again and it was about 2 quarts low in about 120 miles of driving the PO insists it did not burn any oil but I believe he was just trying to pawn it off and be done with it. We have found no leaking oil under the car and can smell some oil burning coming from the tail pipe when reving the engine, I have looked up the issue and found that it is a known problem . Apparently in the USA there is a 8 year warranty extension for this Issue but I live in Canada and can not find any info about canadian crv's ,
I have called the dealership the car was bought from and they said they would do a consumption test but not fix it for free if it fails the test and Honda Canada danced around the issue with no real results. . My question Is does this warranty extension cover cr-v's sold in Canada if so who could I contact to get a straight answer?
Thank you.

Just an update to the oil burning issue i did a seafoam piston soak of about an ounce per cyl hand tightened the spark plugs and left it for a few days the seafoam eventually drained past the rings into the oil which i plan to change within 500 kms i also changed the pcv valve and one or the other or both has seemed to help with the oil burning I no longer smell oil when revving the engine ,time will tell if it will burn more oil . P.S it is important to note that if you try the seafoam soak you should make sure the seafoam has drained off into the crank or turn the engine over with no plugs in before running the crv to avoid potential hydro locking the engine. Also the old pcv valve seemed to work (it rattled and moved freely and seemed to be closing fully) but I suspect it was defective as i could see a spring when looking into the pcv valve that looked like it had shifted position and was out of place so changing the pcv might be the logical starting point which does not cost a lot and easily accomplished with simple tools. (google crv pvc valve replacement). I will update my post about oil burning If i find that my oil issue is resolved after some miles.
