Power Steering pulley V to Ribbed changeable?
Hi guys
I have an ED9 Honda CRX that came with the d16a8 stock. However it was changed to a D16a8 from a 92 Eg Civic.
I've kept the power steering pully from the CRX but the belt is a V belt where'as the EG Civics is a ribbed.

Now they look like they line up perfectly so is it a matter of just replacing the pully with a ribbed pulley and using washers if need to make sure they line up straight?
I also notice it doesnt have a tensioner bolt. So is the tension just done by pulling the pump up and tightening the bolts?
This problem is uncommon and has been driving me crazy.
Thanks

You're on the right track. If you can find an EG PS pump and brackets to match the EG crank pulley you'll be sweet. Or swap the CRX's crank pulley onto the EG's motor and use the CRX PS pump and brackets. You tension the belt by loosening the adjustment bolt, prying the pump with a bar and then tightening it. Check the deflection of the belt, new belt should be 7-10mm old belt should be 9-12mm with about 10kg of force applied.

thanks,
because this is such an uncommon engine change I didnt think i'd get any replies.
But i will do exactly that!

The swap is a bit more common in Australia because the motor came in a couple of different models standard.
Just note i updated my last post to be more specific with what combinations of parts you need to be chasing. For example, you can't use the EG PS pump with CRX pump brackets.

Damn
Realized i couldn't use the pulley.
The CRX pulley was round with a cutout while the civic pulley uses a teeth in the middle to stop it spinning on itself.
