New member here.
I just purchased a 96 Accord 4 door sedan. The other day the door open indicator on the instrument panel for the passenger front door started staying on. At the same time the courtesy light in that door and the dome light now stays on. I pulled the bulb in the door and turned off the dome light. My switch tests fine. I suspect a short to ground. Any idea where I'd look? I have the schematic and it appears the short must be in the grn/red wire to that jamb switch but am not sure where exactly this wire runs . There is an alarm system that was installed years ago and it doesn't appear to be working. I also assume this alarm would tie into this wire and maybe it's causing a short to ground? I looked under the dash and can't see the grn/red wire. I was hoping I'd find it and see where the alarm is spliced in. Any idea where it would be located in the instrument panel area? I don't have any diagrams showing harness locations.

Your switch is faulty or the wire to the switch in the b pillar has a short

 

As mentioned the switch is fine so I need to find the short to ground. Does the harness run up the B-pillar along the roof under the headliner? I could really use a harness diagram.

 

Diagrams can be found in the ETM/FSM for your vehicle. Otherwise, make a trip to your local library or if your local library subscribes to ebscohost and has an online portal., the Automate Software is very detailed for diagrams. But if my memory serves me right, the b-pillar harness runs to the floor and marries up to the body harness running under the scuff plate trim under your door. The dome light either runs along the A pillar or B pillar on the driver side.
