Default GT2860RS on a stock B18B motor?

Just curious if it is possible to make 320whp with this turbo on an untouched B18B with 93 octane?

It shouldn't be possible, unless you're pushing the turbo much harder than you should as well as other factors that wouldn't yield a good build/tune. The system would be way out of it's efficiency range.

Don't forget the non-VTEC heads flow much less CFM than VTEC heads. This will greatly effect how the turbo responds and makes power.

GT2871 would be a better option from the GT family.

That's exactly what I was thinking but wanted a 2nd opinion. Also it will be on a tubular log so that will make it that much worse. Forgot to mention that.

the gen2 gtx2860r would be able to do it perfectly fine.
GT2871 is overkill.
The log manifold is going to hold you back a LOT.
You'll probably hit knock limit of 93 pump gas before you reach 320hp, especially if you use the log manifold.

He said GT, not GTX, so I assumed he meant the GT28RS disco potato. I agree the 2871 isn't the optimal choice for that power goal, but mentioned it anyway as it's the only other GT28 turbo that could reach the output. There are other Garrett or Turbonetics options that would be a better fit.

Nope. You remember, we dicussed this before early 2018.

Unless you run boost by rpm to save the rods and a decent manifold imo the engine wont last long.

What are you talking about? Didn't we discuss these things before mid 2015? LOL I've recently had a spark of interest in the Integra again but the wife wants me to sell it and get a more "sophisticated" ride. In a couple years after I get her SUV I do plan to get probably an Audi A6 3.0T or S4. But in the mean time I wouldn't mind a turbo Integra.

I've come to realize if I do turbo it I will never build the motor so 320whp is probably going to be the limit.

So how did I do 300whp on a GT2560r?

GT2860RS is at least as efficient. And remember I was on a cast log manifold also. Took about 21lbs and it was definitely at the upper limit but I daily drove that car and it was run good for 2-3 years. Motor went back to stock, came out and sold to a friend

Man, part of me thinks it will never get done. For numerous reasons...

Got 3 kids, got several promotions at work and now need a "business man" car, and a mid 30's guy in an older Honda is...eh...

But I still love it.

The more I look the more I like the Audi A3 8V. Those things seem to have a lot of modding potential. I'd be happy with a 11 second daily driver.

Bah, hogwash! I've got 5 kids, medically retired, taking care of oldest daughter (step) and her 2 kids, and renovating the home. Take all the time you need. Build what you want when you can but, don't lose focus!

Yep.

I do think 320whp would be pushing it. Number seems arbitrary though. It was still super fun and surprised alot of people.

It's always been interesting when the two of you don't agree on something. LOL

Not that much. The disagreement is really only on the technicality of the power number and octane fuel. I know that 320whp is more than pushing it on that fuel. It's damn near impossible. This is why the second sentence of LightningtTeg's statement was set in bold. Because the number may be 320whp or 295whp. Either way, it's beyond its efficient zone for that octane. So, I am correct. The disparity is just about by exactly how much.

So, no.. No disagreement here.
