LaFawnduh, the 2004 Honda Accord EX 2.4L 5speed - Transmission Question
Hi, I just finished putting my transmission back together after replacing both 2nd and 3rd gear sets including synchros with genuine Honda parts, as well as replacing the timing chain, the tensioner pulley, the serpentine belt spark plugs, AC condenser, starter, front calipers/rotors/pads, all 4 struts, air filter. While she was apart we cleaned her oil pan as well. We bled the brakes, and then we started her and flushed the coolant. She runs just fine (thankfully) except she won't go anywhere lol. I put her in reverse for her first test drive and she rolled out of the garage nicely, a little strange feeling but that's to be expected, right? It's not the exact same transmission I pulled out since I replaced a couple gears. I put her in first to drive around the neighborhood and the gear shift didn't jump out of gear but it appears the actual transmission did. I can put her in gear, but the gear does not engage. I can put her in first or reverse or fifth and just rev up the engine, but she just sits there as still as ever. I know it's a long shot, but any chance someone could point me in the right direction on where I messed up? Thanks in advance!! -Julia
Sigh, I'm an idiot. Turns out I hadn't seated the CV axle into the transmission differential all the way. Everything seems to be finally working properly and good to go! LaFawnduh shifts smoothly again!
