Hi there My name is Jessie, and my husbands name is James, (yes.. we know..lol) and we're new here. My husband loves his Honda's, and just under a year ago we bought a 1999 Prelude 2.2L VTEC DOHC for pretty cheap, but she has some issues. We stumbled upon your site and have used it as a point of reference numerous times, so figured it's probably time to become a member. We live in the Okanagan, in British Columbia, Canada currently, though James is from Alberta originally, and I'm from Northern BC originally.

Neither of us are in any way a mechanic, but we both have a pretty decent understanding and knowledge base of auto mechanics. Currently we are in a situation where our crankshaft pulley decided it was going to almost come off while we were driving on the highway, thankfully not at a high speed as we were in the city, but, it's rendered our Lude out of commission for the past month or two, because apparently it's impossible to find a replacement harmonic balancer for less than the cost of your house, and we had to really do our homework. Not surprising really, I've learned that this car, while gorgeous, is just simply a pain to get parts for, and find information on, and generally it's going to cost you a pretty penny. So, commence finding TDC, doing the timing and replacing the pulley and belts that were shredded.

I am loving the FAQ, but I've found (of course, as this is the way it seemingly goes, lol) a lot of the links that supposedly contain the information I seek, are dead links and no longer exist. Bah! But, this site overall is fantastic, and we extend a huge thank you to each and every single individual who has contributed in any way to the plethora of knowledge contained here!
