So I'm looking to replace the front speakers in my '93 Del Sol, because one of them blew out. I may also do the rear ones while I'm at it. I've done a lot reading through forums and stuff, and people seem to have varying opinions. Some people say 5 1/4", and some say 6.5". I pulled the speaker out today, and it measures 6", so it makes sense why people are suggesting both of those, as 6" is not a standard size. I would like to do 6.5", as I would expect larger speakers would produce better sound. My concern with this is that I don't know how I would mount speakers that are larger than the factory ones. I could do the 5 1/4", but this is a similar issue. It does seem more possible to put in a smaller speaker than a larger on though. I'm not seeing much available as far as mounting brackets that do this, but I could design and 3D print one if I needed to. I'm sure some of you have done speaker replacements in a Del Sol. What's worked for you? Did you do 6.5" or 5 1/4"? Did you need mounting adapters? Thanks!

I have Morel components in the doors and Pioneer coaxials in the back, powered by an old skool PPI amp. I will eventually swap out the Pioneers for Infinity's....one of these days.
