94 Accord Cruise Control Issue
Hi all,
I've been doing a lot of research on my issue but haven't found anything to solve my issue. I have an intermittent cruise control failure where after the "set" button on the steering wheel is depressed and the cruise engages, it immediately disengages. Occasionally the system does work. I've replaced the brake light sensor but not the clutch sensor (I know for the fact the clutch sensor is adjusted properly). I've disassembled the steering wheel cruise switch and its pretty simple- the buttons just shorts traces on a PCB. The connector for this onto the clockspring looks suspect as the connector doesn't clip together but i'm probably wrong. I would think there is some loose connection in the system. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have the same problem with my 96 LX that started after I changed the steering rack. Sometimes it works but most times it doesn't. Before I changed the rack it worked perfect all the time. I didn't think about the steering wheel spring, thanks for that tip.
I thought I might've knocked loose the connector to the cruiser control module that's above the fuse box under the drivers side dash, but haven't checked yet. Also checkchec vacuum line off the throttle body to the vacuum tank.
Have you checked that on yours?

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the plug for the cruise control module and re-seated it. I didn't see any issues with it. I bought a new OEM steering wheel cruise switch on ebay so I will let you know if that fixes the issue. I will look at that vac line in particular, thank you.
Does your speedometer work normally?
If it is erratic or sometimes 'hops' the signal may be bad coming from the VSS, this would cause the CC not to stay engaged if it is intermittent. Speedo has a smoothing circuit IIRC so any minute fault in the signal may not always show up in the Speedometers output(reaction).
