Can you just switch the reciever on a head unit?

I have a alpine reciever with aux but i want to put another alpine reciever on with bluetooth do i need to install another head unit or can i just plug and play?

Remove the old headunit and see if the other headunit uses the same plug. I believe it's a 16-wire plug. Should be PNP.
