Hi! I'm usually rather savvy when it comes to researching issues with my van but I'm stumped on this one. The van lost gauges and radio yesterday while driving but the dash lights remained on. When I got home I pulled all the fuses and they were good and it ran fine when I went to get gas this morning. After 2 miles my headlights dimmed, gauges died and the radio freaked out. I pulled over turned it off and tried to restart but it would not. After multiple attempts at jumping we could not get it to switch gears until I turned the key barely and switched gears. Once jumped the van made it about 1/4th of a mile before completely shutting off while driving. The battery, alternator and starter are all less than a year old and the alternator bracket is holding like a champ ( We had to replace it 4 times in the past year.)
