Need help on deciding between two GS-R's
I recently checked out a '97 gs-r with 70k on it and everything seems to be alright. I bargained the owner down to $10k. There's also another 97 gs-r with 40k on it, but it's theft recovered. Supposedly it has had the exhaust, seats, spoiler, and wheels stolen, but replaced with factory parts. I haven't gave an offer yet, so what do you think is alright to offer the recovered gs-r? Or, should I just stay away from it. Thanks for all your help with my other posts regarding finding my next car.
Here are my thoughts...
If I was a thief, I would take the parts that I could the most $ off of... so why not the motor?
At any rate, my brother bought a theft recovery teg, it runs great! but it rattles like a daimond back in the summer... the person(s) who put it back together did a crappy job, so now we are stuck slowly trying to take it apart and put it back together right.
My 2 coppers anyways...

don't get the salvaged car unless you never, ever plan on selling it again.
honda motors are damn reliable, so 70k is a-ok

my car is a theift recovery, ive had no problems with it for the year ive owned it. and the whole selling thing, i figure im gonna have it for a few more years and most probably it will be stolen by the time i decide to sell it or buy a new car and keep it, so either way
It really depends on the more killer deal you can get. Like the other poster said, if you don't plan on selling it why not. I once owned a Supra that had a salvage title and didn't have a problem selling it at all though.
