I have pulled a steering wheel from an integra at the junkyard(see attached) I cannot find anyone showing how to swap it or wire the horn, only that the spline counts are the same. If anyone has any pictures of it in an eg, knows how to disassemble it and/or can link me to a thread about it (don't know what the wheels are called) I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the steering wheel
You really think a steering wheel with a big *** “integra” emblem on it is gonna look good in your Honda Civic? I know people like putting Acura emblems on Honda’s, to each their own. But putting a da steering wheel on is a true commitment, you must really want a integra.
There was a slip ring for the Integra wheel that runs the horn and cruise control buttons. You need that. Well, you *might* need that --- what I'm saying is that it might not play nice with the 5G Civic steering column setup. Be prepared for disappointment. I tried an early 90s Prelude wheel on my 5G Civic when I was young and foolish. I frankensteined parts together to make it work, and it was still a half-baked concoction and not safe (risk of column nut coming loose, ahhh!). YMMV given that this is a different wheel.
I found an integra wheel at the junkyard for like 5$, and thought it looked much better than the 4 spoke on my eg hatch. The word integra doesn't bother me. This isn't 2001, integras are the same price as civics of the era. If you don't like the wheel in my car, don't get one in yours. I'm not a fan of quick release wheels and was looking for a cheap, stock option, as the 3rd gen prelude wheel doesn't look like an easy fit.
Thanks for the reply! Yes I remember seeing your thread about the 3g prelude steering wheel in an eg. Looks amazing!, too bad it didn't work. Know of any good looking 3 spoke wheels with a stockish look? Thanks, have a good one!
