2007 Honda Civic LX check engine NOT coming on
My car failed inspection because the check engine light does not come on during start up. Also, my power window and power door locks as well as my gas gauge only work sometimes. Any suggestions?
Was the car purchased new by you or was it bought used? If it was bought used, there is a possibility the previous owner may have tampered with it, such as covering with tape, etc.
Also check under-hood Fuse No. 23 (10A) and under-dash Fuse No. 10 (7.5A) to make sure they are not blown and they are firmly in the fuse slots.
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) aka Check Engine Light has an LED, not a regular bulb. Generally, LEDs have a very long service life. If it wasn't tampered with see if an OBD-II scanner/reader can communicate with the PCM (car's computer). Many auto parts stores have OBD readers they will check for free.
