02 into 06 crv engine and trans

02 into 06 crv engine and trans

I find that the 02 to 06 2.4 crv engines are interchangeable, just may have to change intake. is this true?

Also Im finding the 02 - 04 transmissions are different from 06. is it possible to use an 02 trans in an 06?

No it is not interchangable, the 02-04 are 4spd auto's, the 05-06 are 5spd.

also, as I understand it may be illegal in some states/countries to install an older engine into a newer vehicle due to emissions compliance. there may be loop holes but it's something to check into before investing time, effort and money
