Default Flex-A-Lite Overflow Tank & Fan, EK

Anyone using the Flex-A-Lite overflow tank with their Civic fan on an oversize radiator? I installed the fan on my car with a Koyo half rad and there's just not really any space for the stock overflow tank. Wondering how their can fits but I can't find any pics sooooo, pic appreciated.

It just doesn’t really fit anymore. I was able to bend the bracket a little and cram it in there but there’s just not enough space anymore with the icebox. The radiator moved everything back a bit and so the icebox was up against the stock shroud. The one reservoir fit at that point but it was tight. The shape of the new fan shroud eats up what space was left.

Really don’t want an aftermarket reservoir, but I don’t have a lot of choice. I’ll snap a pic later to demonstrate.

Yes, my bay desperately needs to be cleaned. The pic doesn't do it justice. The overflow is really crammed in between the airbox and the fan shroud. If I had access to fabrication these days I'd just whip something up to go behind the headlight but that's not an option:

Weird. I tried a different attachment method, let me know if it works now.

looks fine to me, my dual core sits the same way and I have a much better cooling fan on there, SPAL I think. Haven't had to **** with it much. Just preparing for some boost if I can get around to getting the block ready.

Hm, if you use the small tabs you might be able to mount it onto the oem bracket somehow and keep the cylinder in that area. Weird thing is that the cylinder has to pipes at the bottom and the oem reservoir only needs one line from the radiator.

It's really not, everything is wedged together in there so it's all rubbing and whatnot. The Flex-a-Lite fan is actually super awesome even as it is impressively loud lol. I can actually feel the suction through the front of the car while it's running. I also like that I didn't have to use the through-fin tie downs like a lot of the aftermarket fans use but, in hindsight, the SPAL would have left me with more room.

No worries though, looks like I found a solution in an EF resevoir:

Not sure what room you have in the rest of your engine bay, but on one of my cars from long ago I relocated the bracket and reservoir to the passenger's shock tower, using a pre-existing threaded hole. I just had to run a longer hose to get to the reservoir. Sorry it's not a great angle, but this is the only picture I have.

Thanks. I'm going to hold off and see how this EF bottle works out for me. Will report back sometime after Friday.

Might sound obvious, but why not just mount the fan to the front of the radiator, and reverse the polarity of the fan to push air through instead of pulling it from the back?

Thats what I did and have had no problems with clearance.

The fan that I purchased is not intended to be used that way. I used the FAL direct fit. I actually looked at a few pics of your setup when I was deciding what to do about mine. The FAL fan is overall thinner but just happened to be a bit wider than the stock shroud when I got it in there. Oh well

oooh, you did what I did. yeah that damn thing takes some juice. I had to use a relay to get power directly from the battery to power it because it kept blowing the fuse when using the oem route.

FYI to keep this going. I picked up the EF bottle last week but that is not an SR3 bracket as the poster in that thread mentions. I’m going to poke around and see if I can find one that will work, or try and figure out what that one is.

I think I found it, Integra coolant overflow bracket. Not sure why I didn't check that out sooner:

It's no longer available, I'll have to see if I can make a junkyard run soon.

yes this is the correct bracket, i did this the past weekend, you just have to cut off the tab that keeps it in place while bolting it down.

Nice! Looks better than that chrome can was going to look. Also for the record, I did some measuring and that wasn’t going to fit either.

Finally got off my *** and went to the junkyard today to find a bracket (It's discontinued and NLA from Honda). Pretty stoked with the results. It fits like it's meant to be there. Just tucks under the core support in the front and just clears the wheel housing in the bottom and rear. Doesn't interfere with the loom either. Still need to clean my bay. SPare valve cover is off to the powdercoater shortly lol.

Couple install notes for the EK. If you still have AC lines you'll have to notch the bracket. Of course, the locating tab has to come off or be bent flat too:
