Default HELP!!! Stripped my head with spark plug

I know, I know.......must be the dumbest thing I've ever done. After hearing all the horror stories of this happening to people, I've been SOO careful when changing spark plugs. I honestly don't see how this happened the way it did, but now I need to deal with it.

Is there a way to have someone Helicoil the head without having to take it off the engine? I know having the head off is major bucks, and I really don't have the cash right now between tuition and everything else. Thanks for understanding guys...

Nick

A torque wrench would be a good tool to invest in, as well as a Helm's manual for your make and model.

Your best bet is to take the head off and rethread it using a rethreading tool. But, you may have to use a different spark plug to accomodate a larger hole. Otherwise, you'll need to replace the entire head.
