98 Honda Accord transmission range sensor codes
Hi I have a 98 Honda Accord I have two transmission codes p0705 and p0706 but here's the thing I don't notice any mechanical issues at all even the reverse lights work so what could be causing this? Going to have anything to do with dirty transmission solenoids and screens?
I personally haven't had this issue but from: SOLVED: P0705 on honda accord 2001 - Fixya
Possible causes:
- Faulty Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Mis-adjusted Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Park/Neutral Position Switch harness is open or shorted
- Park/Neutral Position Switch circuit poor electrical connection
Bar stool answer:
1: lever cable maladjusted, read FSM on how.
2: PRNDL switch is bad. (tests)
3: the PRNDL connector is bad. (look)
4. apparently the switch can be cleaned sometimes and fix the fault. part #18 in the diagram

Ok I'll clean the switch and the solenoids. See what happens when I shift Andover drive sometimes I'm going about 40 and it goes into 3rd or 4th gear there's a little bit of a lag with the shift to but in the 3 there's never any lag it just shifts within a second or so.
