Can I bard a jdm motor??
I got a b20b(b20z) from my cousin who bought it from a shop, I was just wondering if Jdm motors are able to be bard in CA. And is a receipt needed when taking car to go bard?
You'll need to put all the accessories for a b18a1 motor on it (intake manifold, exhaust manifold, etc) and make sure all emissions equipment for a 91 Integra is installed and working correctly. Take it to a referee and have them inspect it. It will pass an Acura integra 1.8L motor using a b20 as a replacement.
Yes you can.

It's not a loophole at all. The B20 block is an approved replacement engine for a B18A/B, and therefore you can do a legal swap with it as long as you carry the correct emissions equipment. It has been the case for several years now.
And yes, my brother has passed his b20 at the state ref.
Interesting, but thank god I don't live in Cali. I'm already dealing with a turbo'd engine running on a piggyback due to having to use the obd2 port to verify all systems are a go.
What do you think they are going to do instead? Come confiscate your car and arrest you because you called and asked a question about making it legal? I'll keep my political leanings to myself, but they don't apply here.
that is like FLA, they want us to pollute the air so bad that Fla just disappears due to global warming. I don’t even think we know how to spell emmissionz over here.
