Default No starter signal below freezing?

My 92 EG VX bone stock Does not start in extreme cold. At the starter, it’s not receiving signal when engaging key. Only does it in below freezing days. I hear something clicking at relays but swapped relays anyway. same. Even cleaned and installed new grounding kit. Same. What the hell?

I didnt check voltage at relay with key held just heard a click at fuse box when engaging key.

And yes batt voltage is good.

Voltage might be "okay" but current could be a problem. Extreme cold always shows a weak battery.

I would normally start there before thinking other things are wrong.

Simple test, pull the battery out and keep it inside (off the ground) on a really cold night. Put it back in first thing in the morning and watch the car start since the battery is near room temperature. This will rule out the cold being an affect on all other parts of the car and show you that your battery can no longer handle the extreme cold.

Check voltage at the small wire that goes to the starter too.

I mean I have 12 volts at the battery and hot lug of starter, but no voltage switching at the small starter wire when engaging key. If I only had 9 volts I could see it, but its not the case. When my car doesn’t start, I take a jumper wire from my small starter wire and touch it to the positive battery post and she fires right up. Something in car is not letting the starter see a signal on below freezing days. I have verified this. I’ll throw a new battery in from my other hatch thojgh for the hell of it though thank you for quick reply

Check the starter switch and its adjustment at the top of the clutch pedal. Also inspect the stopper that presses on the starter switch button for damage.

You can disregard my post. This has verified it's not the battery as it normally is with cold weather.

Also does your cluster dim when you crank the car by key?

Thank you for response. Checked switch depressed it while turning key nothing still. and day above freezing car fires right up. Fires up once you get it started in morning. i don’t get it. Still no signal going to starter when its below freezing out.
