Default 97 honda accord 5 speed 2.2 vtec

So the timing belt broke the car sat for about 4 months and we got it fixed now the car idles weird and you can floor it and it takes a while to rev up sometimes it wont rev at all we replaced the spark plug wires and plugs the map sensor we put new gas in it and used a water seperator the car still does the same thing any ideas ?

Perform a compression test and leak down test on all 4 cylinders.

These engines are interference type engines. When the timing belt breaks while ghe engine is running. You may have had some piston to valve contact that can bend the valves.

If the compression and leak down tests come out good. Check the alignment of the timing belt. Could be off a tooth or 2.
