has anyone ever bought a new iacv for their y8. Brand new from the parts store? O’Reilly has them with life time warrenty for $165 !!!! Dang that’s where I’m going to get mine. I hate the junk yard I’m so reluctant to give those fuhkers my money. I hope it fixes my idle.

Yes post your install review. Do you know if there’s a gasket coming with the iacv? I’ll try cleaning it after I get a gasket for it from Honda. If they still sell them. My cars also asking for an o2 sensor but as of now she starts up fine but will just die unless I gas it. 🤦🏻*♂️

Test the coil(s) with an ohmmeter. If electrically OK and no physical damage, should not need a new one, clean it.

i bought an extremely cheap chinese one for a y7 on ebay for $10 or so shipped. worked/works fine. could be lucky, but odds are any parts store is just reboxing the same cheap crap.

I bought the Duralast one from Autozone once for my 89 CRX Si. It turned out to be an OEM Denso repackaged in a Duralast box. I hooked it up and the only noticeable difference was how the idle was a little bit quicker to react to ECU changes. It didn't fix my high-idle-at-startup problem whatsoever. I took it back.

got a good price for an oem one of ebay. I bought another ebay special first but it was so junky i just threw it away and but the oem one.

btw, i cleaned mine out the first time, and the idle problems came back, no looking to take it off and clean it a couple times a year.

thats exactly why I want to just buy a new one. It wasn’t even that dirty to begin with and I’m pretty sure I destroyed it. I’m going to buy one from eBay like y’all maybe I’ll buy two just in case. For the record my car starts and dies if I don’t give it gas. I forget if it still does the thing where it will die even if I’m pumping the gas.

You have to be careful not to hit the 'infiniti' gasket with brake cleaner or ese it'll shrink.

adjust idle, reset ecu, relearn idle? This setup you're running is something I haven't tested yet on a b-series but what I suggested is something I would do next anyways.

In stock form the ecu detects the ac coming on therefore the idle goes up. Best check if your p28 ecu is set to idle up when it gets a signal.

no, I am sharing my experience with aftermarket IACV. You can go to hondapartsnow.com to find the correct part number for your car..
for the y8 the part number is: 36450-P2J-J01

i already found some on ebay for around $55 new
