Default CVT transmission reliability?

I see most, maybe all, newer Honda CR-Vs have the CVT constantly variable transmission. Are these transmissions as reliable as the regular automatic transmissions that came in the older CR-Vs? Of course this would involve good care and fluid changes.

We must purchase a different car as the 2011 CR-V was totalled in an accident.

Don't know because there is not enough data on the newer CVT.
Will say that I believe that Honda CVT should be better than Nissan CVT

Everything about a Nissan CVT is terrible, from the programming to the durability.
