Default Starter question

Simple question - Is the solenoid built into the starter or is it a separate unit. 2009 Civic LX 1.8L. Won't start. Battery is fine so I plan to replace the starter. Do I need to replace the solenoid also?

The solenoid is part of the starter. It is not separate.

The starter is comprised of a electric motor and solenoid.
They are part of the whole thing called a starter

When replacing a starter, the unit comes with both motor and solenoid as a set or starter
