I’ve been lurking around here for abit and decided I needed help...
My Honda, a 242K 1995 Civic with the 1.6L VTEC. (D16Z6)
Recently I’ve been hearing strange engine noises:
I’m not sure what it is, the timing is spot on and the spark plugs seem fine. It usually happens during acceleration or under load.
Its always had regular maintenance done, and is running Synthetic 5W30.

Is my civic doomed?

 

audio sucks. at those miles, nothing would surprise me. invest in a mechanic's stethoscope and pinpoint the source.

 

Did you properly adjust the ignition timing with a timing gun?
