1998 Accord 2.3lt starts dies immediately. Recent head job. Has spark and some fuel.
This car is a real confusing one...
98 accord 5 speed 2.3lt
Had a head gasket go on it about a year ago. Changed the head gasket and it was running fine for about a month. Then the problems started and it has been sitting for almost a year due to it.
Car will crank over and fire up for about 2 seconds and die. Pushing in the throttle wont help. Spraying starter fluid does help though and it will run. It has good fuel pressure however it seems like the injectors are not pulsing correcting.
Nothing makes it better or worse.
I feel like what ever tells the injectors to pulse might be causing it but I don't know for sure. I believe thats the crank sensor right? Could it be a bad wire somewhere? Or would something in the VTEC system effect the injectors pulsing?
Any ideas on where to trace back the issue? Thanks all

- Distributor has been changed,
- Crank sensor,
- ECU changed out
- Even that main relay under the dash people talk about changed out
- Cleaned the main ecu ground on the intake manifold
- Ignition switch isnt in the greatest shape but that's not it

Also just tested the car with Noid lights on all 4 injector wires. Heres where it gets interesting, the car cranking over with the noid lights has ALL of the lights going off as they should be. Once you plug in 1 injector and attempt to start the car once it kicks over you can see the noid lights stop firing. Almost like the car kills the injectors once it kicks over. I wonder if the ecu is bad or perhaps the replacement Crank sensor is no good.
not vtec. does the 12 volts supply at the injectors drop when starting? get a dvm and check.
use a probe light with wire attached to battery + and probe touching the ecu side of an injector connector. try to start. does it flash now with other injectors connected?
any codes?
