Default still trying to figure out why wipers work on their own

Hello. Hopefully I am narrowing down why my wipers work by themselves on my 93 accord. Today I turned the headlights on on a nice sunny day and the wipers came on as well right away. After about 15 secs I turned the lights off and the wipers went to park. So where is the link between lights & wipers. I'm reading info there may be a bad earth, but no idea where to start to look.

It looks like there are 2 grounds in the dash, one below and to the left of the steering wheel, and another around the glove box. I would start there. Hopefully it's a ground problem and not a shorted wire.

I would imagine theyre probably the same, or close. Honda usually keeps their grounds reatively easy to find. Look for some brass bolts with a bunch of wires going to them.

Hello. Thanks for the tip. I spent an hour looking up under the dash. I pulled the headlight/wiper shrouds off, looked around the glove box and I couldn't see any earth wires there, just lots of of normal connector plugs, noting near the steering wheel either

try looking behind the passenger kick panel (or maybe on drivers side on uk vehicles) near the fuse box.

item 25 are the ground bolts, not a great drawing but gives the general location.

Hello. I did manage to find 2 black ground wires behind the kick panel directly under the fuses next to the accelerator, but they looked quite ok. I decided to call a Honda wrecker to ask his opinion. he said it could possibly be a short in the wiper/headlight assembly under the steering wheel. If that's the case it's worth a try. do you know from what year models will fit my 93 Accord?

Thanks for the info. Are these parts interchangeable to right hand drive?

give your local honda dealer a ring. I tried a couple of websites for sydney dealers but no online parts diagrams. I think they want you to come in for a pint. cheers mate.
