Default 2015 Honda Accord Sport - oil

I posted a while back asking an oil change question and got a bunch of great responses, thanks to everyone.

I got the first oil change done.

Just out of curiosity, it seems to take more than the 4.4 qts the manual called for. Anyone ran into that?

I added 4.4 and it didn't quite hit the first hole at the bottom of the acceptable range. Even after adding 4.8 it's still only about 2/3 of the way up the acceptable marks on the dipstick. I wouldn't imagine the filter would hold that much.

I'm not too worried about it, just thought I'd see what you guys had to say.

Did you start the engine and maybe even drive around the block before you check the dipstick?

4.4 or 4.8 seem a bit too much. I don't know, other than go with the dipstick reading.

Well I didn't drive it before adding more. However now that I've driven it for a few days it's still reading 2/3 of the way up the acceptable range.

I probably should have been more careful but I'm pretty comfortable with the dipstick reading regardless of the fact more than 4.4 was added.

just strange is all. Checking after the car is off for 10-25 min on level ground. Thanks.

Yes, strange. And I assume oil is not dripping on the ground.

I have a 2014 and use the mobile 1 - 5 quart. When filling it to the top ( second line) there is hardly left in the 5 quart container. My guess is 4.8 is usually normal. I also thought it was odd . The car has 118k never burned a drop of oil . We have owned it since day one and I have done every oil change.Only have done routine maintenance and replaced the battery sensor for the recall. Great car it has been.

yea, same here, I kept a real close eye on it after I bought it to make sure it wasn't burning or leaking.

And yea, you just described my oil change, glad I'm not the only one. Very odd.

I did some search, and many owners have said 5 quarts in the 2.4L.
