Evap questions ?

I have a obd1 b20 in my 99 ex coupe and my friend said I dont need the evap purge canister. So does that mean I dont need to run the evap purge solenoid sensor connector?

All cars and light rucks have had evap emissions since the 1970's
Some older cars don't have the manufacturers or after market making the parts for them anymore.
This is when some mechanics improvise using available parts to get around this.
But, yes, it is needed.

I ran with mine unplugged for a bit to isolate an issue and I couldn't stand the smell.

sorry for the late reply but its the Jdm crv b20 in my coupe. With Ls mani and ls trans . Im extending the IAT sensor this weekend

If your problem was like mine the solenoid had failed and my idle was terrible so i just disconnected the solenoid and it runs a lot better. I couldnt find the solenoid searching online so i just said screw it for now. Ive been running catless for so long that i didnt notice any “more” gas smell lol
