Struts--Where to Buy
Any recommendations on struts for a stock 1989 Civic Si?
Also, does anyone sell complete strut assemblies with springs and all? Seems like the simplest approach to the job.
Thanks, Dave.

Not sure if anyone sells complete assemblies, I've never looked since it isn't too complex to swap the spring over if you have compressors.
Would not recommend the typical "OE" crap the big chains are hawking. Made the mistake of buying Monroes a long time ago. Thought they felt way too soft and bouncy, like the car was nearly just riding on the spring. Never again.
If you can afford them, Bilstein would probably be the best option. I've heard good things about the KYB Excel-G on stock springs, those can be had on Summit Racing for not much more than Monroe.

I put new OEM bump stops and KYB Excel-G's on all 4 corners of my sedan a couple of years back and have been happy. Buy/rent/borrow a set of compressors and do the swap yourself...it's straight forward. I did have to use a sawzall to get the hat off of one of my OEM shocks, as the nut was not coming off.
