Civic Si 2000 max revs at 7k rpm

just bought this si not to long ago and it max’s out at 7k rpm doesn’t let me hit vtec any help my lads

Best look over everything, what engine, what tranny, and what ecu.

Bone stock USDM Civic Si?

Hook up a code reader that shows live data to see whether the tach is reporting the correct engine rpms.
