Default 1994 Civic EX sedan 5th gear RPM at 75mph

I noticed that the indicated RPM at 75mph in 5th gear varies sometimes. Has anyone experienced this?

Failing tachometer gauge... a VERY common issue in the '92-95 Civic platform. Replace the tach.

First one seems about right. At 80 would be around 3200.

My tach was all over the place (mostly low) when I first got the car. Replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the tach fixed it. Also those type of caps are in the speedo and the ECU, they're all going to give trouble as they age.

I have a 93 hatch and my tach is always off or not consistent

My '95 H22 powered EJ2 Coupe suffers from the same tachometer issue... waiting for OmniPower to get some EG replacement tachs back in stock.

Any idea why they don't have the EG ones listed on their site? Are they planning on offering them again in the future?

My understanding is that when the EG tachs are out of stock, they are removed from the website. Over the years, they have come and gone.
