Hello. I'm thinking about buying a second civic. Found an 89 thats going to need a rebuild.
I think it has an EW engine with the 4 port in and 2 out, but I'm not sure. (I'm new to civics in general) At $300, it would at least be something to mess with. (plus I love carbs)
Your thoughts?

 

That's not an 89. It's a 3rd generation Civic, so 86 or 87 judging by the headlight design.

What are your goals with it? Fuel economy, beater, swap later, track etc..? It's up to you, but parts are tough to find. It's best to grab an Si for the 3rd gen since they were fuel injected, more reliable, and easier to swap.

 

Be prepared for lots of vacuum lines and a Klein carb. Not as easy to get running right as a EFI car.
