Honda Motor Upgrades
Just got my honda a couple months ago and need to get rid of my maintenance light off what should i check for?? Also any ideas to make it a little faster engine wise it's automatic? My new little toy 99 accord.
Short of turbocharging the engine (which will toast your transmission in short order), there really isn't much you can do. The best advice is to sell your car and use the proceeds to buy something with the kind of power you are looking for; this will cost you far less in the long run and land you a more reliable car at the same time.
Yeah true... Maybe. Its my daily driver for the time being appreciate the advice. U think i can do anything as far as oil burning on the engine?? Im changing the Vtec solenoid this weekend.
True story; a few years ago I needed a van for occasional duty and bought one on the cheap with just over 190,000 miles on the clock. The first thing I did after changing the oil was embark on a 3,500 mile road trip; the engine consumed a quart of oil after the first 700 miles, however, by the time I'd finished the trip it was consuming oil at the rate of about 2,500 miles per quart. By the time I sold the van about 15,000 miles later the oil consumption had improved to well over 3,000 miles per quart. In this case, the oil I used was Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 (not at all appropriate for your Accord), however, any top tier synthetic oil would most likely have done the same thing.
PCV Valve got it... Autozone not open at these hours. I was hoping not to hear that its an investment for a new engine witch I've done before on a different accord years ago Witch I took A loss on My goal is to have a fast nice looking car i like the sport look to it What guy dont like to have fun with there ride. Im putting the effort. I tried Lucas already in just keeping a eye on it for now plus I just put an intake long ram hope that dont make it worse it should not effect the performance of the engine though. Ima look into the synthetic
