Default Tech: Type R 5 lug conversion complete *pics* + How to

Hey guys, my 5 lug conversion is complete! still got the ITR booster and brake cylinder to go and also to get all the ITR sway bars but thats another story, breaking is amazing. and yet it still has so much more potential. definitely worth it in my book! well here is the finished product. btw the howto is now complete as well.

to check out the step by step how to go to : http://www.jdmvtec.com
and let me know what you guys think about the whip and the how to!

Someone help me to realize, whats the point of spending $1500. for an extra lug, and some stock brakes? Fastbrakes kit and some others are much cheaper, and weigh less. Is it also the look that gets people or what? Im not hating or anything Im just wanting to know money wise why?

Mmmmm,....Bold

this is why:

does the guy down the road with this 'jdm hatch' have 5 lug?
does the guy that one first place at that show last weekend have 5 lug?

building cars (for me) is an expression of my individualism, each car is a different signature.

5 lug is him.
maybe you prefer APC decals...

ooh, sorry that was low...

this is my reason.

im going for ..

1) Looks
2) Front Upgrade
3) Rear upgrade
4) Suspension upgrade
5) Bragging rights

my main concern was something about the rear, i cannot stand drums so having 10" rear discs definitely makes my day! any more questions?

thanks for the comments guys!!

ok ALL of those could have been accomplished by a 4piston kit from fastbrakes and a nice set of coilovers and shocks.
the ONLY diffrence is you dont have the mad cool 5 lugs.

but it does look good.

looks good man and i guess "SpoonSportsEH2" doesnt get the point .its more like a prestige thing than a simple brake upgrade.get it now...which would you want a rolex or a timex???

Prestige? Rolex or Timex? I think you are missing the point entirely. What everyone is saying is that with the same or similar ammount of money, one can purchase a kick *** rock and roll big brake setup...What has more prestige? Giant four piston brakes, or a 5 lug of an ITR? I think it is you sir, that does not get the point.

Nobody is debating this is a good upgrade over stock...It's just that you can get much better for the same, or similar price. And for the record...I think it looks nice, and will get the job done. I'm not knocking that fact.

i did, i cleaned everything else... the discs is the only thing thats rusty and once you drive around they shiny again ..im getting new brembo blanks soon with new pads so thats why i didnt bother.

so you did an itr brake swap, but didnt bother to upgrade to itr rear lca's or even add a swaybar? I wanted to do the itr brake swap, but when I found out that the 11" wilwood 4 piston actually weighs less than the stock cx brakes, the answer was obvious.

The real purpose for 5 lug is obviously for stability. That extra lug actually helps maintain more consistancy through high speed turns and straight aways than their 4-lug counter parts. I'm sure though that none of us can really feel this diff. hahaha

so your're going to use the ITR LCAs you got with the swap for the rear swaybar and stuff? going to be getting new struts for the back also? I'm in the process of doing the rear sway with itr lcas this weekend hopefully.

I have the rear LCA's just that the ITR shocks went bent, so i threw them out. waiting on some koni yellows then i throw the LCA's on and a phatty 22mm ITR lower sway bar with a cusco tie bar :::woooood::::
