Vafc or Safc with turbo?
for those of you with Vafc or Safc: Did you install them yourself and how difficult was it? Which should i use with a turbo? thanks in advance
You can put an V-AFC in a car w/o the vtec portion active... it just never gets a vtec strobe, and has nothing to send it to. However, if you intend on getting vtec, doing a LS/Vtec mod, have a GSR, ITR, etc... then get the V-AFC... otherwise, the two models are identical.
So, IMO, get the V-AFC if vtec will *ever* enter the picture...
Edit - P.S. your sig says GSR... ?

if u have vtec get the vafc, if u don't, get the safc. and as for installation they do sell harnasses that u can jus plug in instead of cutting wires.
btw, does anyone know if they make the harness for the Safc? of do u jus use the harnass for the vtec and jus ignore the vtec wires? thanx

I don't think he's asking which one to use, he's asking if anyone used either for a turbo application.
It depends on what kind of fuel management route you want to go with. If you want to be cheap with me, you can use larger injectors, an AFC, and something to retard timing during boost.
If you want to go full standalone, you don't need an AFC, as the aftermarket ECU will control everything.
