1996 Accord Shift Lock Solenoid clicking
Our 1996 Accord shift lock solenoid has just started to "click" with auto transmission selector in Park when the engine is running and we step on the brake pedal. 4 cyl engine.
What could the trouble be? There is no problem shifting out of Park into Drive, Neutral, or Reverse.

Are you saying it is randomly clicking or that it is only clicking when depressing the brake pedal?
The interlock should click when depressing the brake pedal with the trans in Park, this is normal.

So, we have nothing to worry about .... feeling foolish now having never noticed this before!?! Normal is good.
