I have a 1993 accord 10th anniversary edition that won’t rev past 3500 rpms. Only code is 14, IAC or EVU code. So far I have replaced the ECE and TCU. Would a bad IAC cause the engine to seem like it is rev limiting at 3500 rpms? The D4 light does not stay on and the car with smoothly shift through all four gears up to 70 mph as long as you keep it under 3500 rpms so I don’t believe the tcm is in limp mode. The engine runs great until 3500 rpms the. Acts like it has a rev limiter set at 3500 rpms. It does this cold as soon as you start it and when it’s hot. I’m thinking maybe main relay next? Any help would be great.
Ok so it’s not the cat, the air intake tube is clear. The only code I have is 14 IAC Valve. Would a bad IAC Valve carouse the engine to revlimit at 3300-3500 RPMs? I just drove it on a 40 mile drive including 25 minutes on the interstate. Idles, runs and drives like a dream all the way up to 75mph as long as you don’t hit 3300rpms. I’m at a loss here. Any other suggestions?
IAC just deals with idle. Hmm................ Weak fuel pump, cloged fuel filter, timing belt jumped a few teeth, check dist cap rotor and rotor button, weak coil ....
Ok so i feel like an idiot. It’s the tcm 14 code not the ecu code. There is a white with yellow striped wire coming from the longer of the to tcm harnesses. Can anyone tell me what it goes too? It was corroded in half.
