Hi all, i have a 2000 Civic EX that is being a pain. I can drive for 30 mins and then park the car and try to restart after about 5 mins and the car will not start until holding the key in the cranking position for about 30 secs to a min sometimes to start, and when it starts it runs really rough and then smooths out after about a min. the car drives fine when accelerating and idling at traffic lights. what could be the issue?

Did forget to mention that i have p1399 and p0325 codes in the system. I did replace the ignition coil. should i do a tune up? Not familiar with the previous history of the car and when things were replaced.

 

The ICM has a tendency to suffer "heat soak" and become temporarily dead when hot.

When it will not start, check if sparks are firing.

 

I have a 99 civic same issues I pump the gas 3/4 times hold it to the floor and treat her like she's flooded. She starts runs ruff 1st minute or 2 then she's ok I'm getting ready to tear her down if I can't solve SOON

 

Please let me know what this issue may be if you figure it out, Im going to try replacing the rotor button and distributor cap to see if this fixes the issue as I've already replaced the ignition coil. feels like a damn fuel delivery issue .May just do the damn tune up with fuel filter.
