Brakes failed, wont start 98 civic
We have a 98 civic that's been sitting for a year. Drove it last night, the brakes were stuck on at first....drove a mile or so. Later took it around the block...my son who is learning to drive stalled it and said the brakes felt bad.
it wouldn't start....there was a puddle of brake fluid by the rear wheel so we popped a line or wheel cylinder....no problem there but why wouldn't it crank? Jumper cables didn't help. We pop started it and got home with the parking brake.
is there some sort of failsafe that disables starter when brake system fails? Never heard of that ....maybe coincidence...
