I recently completed a timing belt change on my 1995 honda accord LX F22b2 engine. it has 249,000 miles on it and it is my daily driver. I broke the cam bolt during the maintenance and replaced it...but forgot to torque it. It drove perfect for 5 days. On the sixth day, it began sounding like a diesel while I was driving it and then it suddenly died. I towed it home and inspected the timing.
I found the bolt laying behind the timing sprocket and the washer and woodruf key at the bottom of the timing cover. The sprocket had spun on the cam about 30 to 45 degrees. I re-timed it and replaced the bolt, making sure to torque it. To my amazement it started. Upon driving it I noticed it did not feel the same. Sometime it drives fine and other times it hesitates and has significantly less power until about 2,000 rpms. I don't drive my car hard so most of my shifts drop the rpms below this 2,000 range and the car struggles to accelerate.
Fearing bent valves I performed a compression test. With the engine warm a dry compression test yielded the following #1: 170 psi, #2: 180 psi, #3: 185 psi, #4: 190 psi. please help!
