Ignition timing Issue
Alright let me make this short.. Since I guess probably wrote too much and it didnt made sense...
Can a broken stud in the distributor affect timing? Also how different are the head from the Manual D16Y7 and to the D16Y7 that comes with an automatic.? Can it affect ignition timing?

Make sure the CEL lights up steady while you are running with the jumper in to check timing. If the CEL doesn't come on you aren't actually in test mode.
Yes you would want the drive dog on the end of the distributor shaft to not be broken, for several reasons. It's easy to take one off of another distributor.
