i am thinking about purchasing this mugen STYLE strut bar..

is it worth 60$ shipped? its new btw.

Looks like it would be stiff. Dont know why it wouldnt work and for 60, sounds like a good idea.

 

looks ok, but DO NOT put a mugen sticker on it.

 

And to think, there's a shop around here that sells them for about $135. I'd get the real thing or just leave the mugen sticker off.

 

True jdm parts are overpriced for the function they give for the most part. If you can save a load of cash and still get the same performance out of an item why not buy it. Brand ****** should die

 

the real ones only cost 250.

As long as it's made well and the welds aren't going to break, go for it.

Why waste $250 when you can waste $60 instead?

...and to some of us $250 is a lot of money compared to $60 for a strut bar.

 

See what happens, if you don't like it, you can always sell it.

 

i'll buy it if it performs like the mugen, looks like the mugen, and cost less than the mugen!!

it's very rigid..and has 4 mounting holes- 2 for shock tower and 2 for inner fender...it deffinately does the job alright worth the 60 bucks

 

it will more than do it's job... and for $60 compared to the mugen's high price --->>? def worth it.

the only difference will be craftsmaship, and materials, of course.

Will you ever real feel good in your own mind with a "fake" Mugen strut bar? Not me...

Same reason I wear Polo or Tommy when I can get basically the same thing at Target. The Polo just makes you feel better about yourself, at least it does for me, and it has that slight touch that you can't find with knock off ****.

Buy a Neuspeed bar. Not a knockoff, yet still repulable.

 

are you so shallow that you have to boost your self-esteem by wearing designer brands? comparing tommy/polo to target as knockoff **** isnt fair. target doesnt market their stuff as tomy or pollo, its target brand, just not 5x as much. but im glad you need reassurance in a big brand to help you get on with life. if it works, it works, if it doesnt it doesnt - nuff said

 

i'd pay a lil extra and get a DC or a Skunk2...

this bar actually seems more rigid than the Neuspeed and the likes. It does not have anywhere near the same kind of quality finish and welds as the real Mugen bar has, but I've had one on my car for almost a year and haven't had any problems. Barely flexes when I put all my weight on it, welds seem to hold up, and I love the mounting position. This is the only fake thing I've ever put on my car, but it's only temporary. It is cheap hollow aluminum, so it's obviously cheaply made, BUT, it does the job. I would rather have an OEM Type R bar though

As long as it works, I don't care it's real or not especially it's 1/4 of the real price.

 

I find this statement kind of funny because Tommy and Polo isnt that great. Your basically buying this stuff for the name brand status. And neither of them are really high quality goods. The material they use is more often then not "B" grade material. All the "A" grade materials are used for signature line clothing.
If you said something like.. CK signature, Donna Karen black label or Zegna then I would have agreed with you rather then laughed at you..

I bought one....used it one my car for like a month. It works very well and you can tell the difference in the cornerings. I ended up giving it to my cousin and got the GSR stock bar. But its worth it in my opinion.
