semi-restricted Exhaust manifold
I pulled my EGR to clean it and make sure it was still functional but there was a lot of caked up oil deposits under it in the exhaust manifold. I picked some of it out but I'm positive that there's a lot in there lining the whole span of it. It's not really clogged but is semi-restricted.
Do any of you know a way to completely clean it out without disassembly or removal of the manifold? I was thinking of pouring some purple power down it and reaming it with a bottle brush. Midas said they hook something up and run a special chemical to clean it up for about $80 but I don't like to pay someone to do something I can figure out and do myself.

Same goes for the intake side. You will want to clean out the EGR port, manifold and throttle body as well. Split the upper and lower intake manifold and high pressure hot water wash everything. Spraying everything down with carb/throttle body cleaner and giving it a scrub first will help loosen up the coked up hydrocarbons.
