Pretty new to the game here but I am currently disassembling my B18 to get more familiar with the B-series engine while I replace the spark plug gasket. Should I continue to take apart the engine and run the risk of harming the engine? Or what things are usually done to the block to ensure its a going to be a healthy strong engine was assembled?

If it's a healthy engine why tear it down just to see what's in there. The service manual is detailed enough to give an idea. If it's not a healthy engine then I would have at it.
