B16a2 Swap wiring dilemma
The car is a 2000 ex 5 speed. Im in the process of working on the wiring for this swap, and have read i need to extend a few harness wires for some sensors including the rear o2, crank sensor, and vtec solenoid and pressure switch wires. Am i missing any others? I also ran into the issue of my distributor connector being different from the previous distributor connector on the harness. I went and got one from an integra to match it up. As i am re-wiring the harness wires into the new distributor connector, i noticed the black/yellow (ignition input) wire on the distributor is a thicker gauge than the same wire on the wiring harness. will that cause any issues? I am pretty much matching the the same colored wires from harness to distributor correct? Any input from anyone who has done this would be great.
2000 ex 5spd, get the proper distributor adapter, repin crank sensor plug, might need to extend iat cuz b16a2 iat is on the manifold. I think thats it, all I can remember.
It is OK to connect the thin black/yellow wire from the distributor to the thicker black/yellow wire in the engine harness. What ECU do you intend to use ???
OP, with the P2T ECU, ^^^ This ^^^ will be a good start. Dizzy adapter (or cut and splice the original EX engine harness), convert the 3 pin CKF sensor plug to a two pin plug, leave your IAT sensor installed and wired in the air inlet tube (and ignore the IAT sensor in the intake manifold itself if it exists on your engine), and lastly... either extend your primary O2 sensor plug or purchase an O2 extension harness and connect to the O2 sensor at the rear of the header.

I wouldn't cut anything there... de-pin the two wires that will be used and insert them into the "B" series two wire clip... then tape back the brown/black ground wire in the event that you ever need to change things back. I know the O2 sensor extension adapters are commercially available, my local shop has them on the shelf. The distributor adapter can also be found commercially or can be "built" by someone comfortable in doing so. If you intend to purchase one, make sure you get the proper gendered ends for both the engine harness and distributor connectors.
Im not a big fan of cutting wires myself. I feel pretty confident in my soldering abilities. I will tackle this job one of these nights and follow up my results. Thanks to everyone for the advice!
