How much is to replace the windshield on an EF? Are new windshields for a car this old still available nowadays?

 

An estimate from Safelite with them coming to me in NNJ to install is $345. I'd recommend going that route.

 

I had mine done in 2012, but it only cost me about $170 in Orlando FL. Pretty sure it was safelite, but I don't 100% remember. Not sure if they still offer but it never hurts to call for a quote.

 

100 to 200 is about the cost at most glass shops anywhere in America

 

Safelite is generally one of the most expensive places to get it done. I assume you will be satisfied with an aftermarket windshield. The thing that I found unsatisfactory was the aftermarket rubber trim around the window, It looks quite different. If you can find OEM rubber trim I would recommend buying it.

 

You'll also want to be prepared to clean up any rust you find behind the windshield and the adhesive. Luckily the guy who did mine didn't mind waiting a day for me to clean and treat the rust he found.

 

I've actually been pricing it for the past few weeks. Safelite was $320. A smaller local shop with good reviews had a special going on and it was only $180! Getting it done tomorrow and very interested to see if the small shop does as well as Safelite would.

 

+1 for cleaning up the rust. There was quite a bit of rust there on my car. Also sometimes when they remove the windshield they damage the paint behind the windshield which allows rust to get started. It doesn't show so they can just glue in the new window but then over time rust starts in that hidden area.

 

I Just got it done to mine, it was $235 and they came to my house for the install. OEM rubber too!

 

I replaced mine about a year ago for $150.
Price really depends on your location, but 100-200 is normal, and yes they're still available.
