Default Code 14 on after start up

I have an 88 hatch that has a code 14 (I believe it’s the iacv) and when I clear the code it comes back on immediately after the car is turned on. I switched it out with one I know is good and it’s still on. I found some wires that were cut and twisted together so I fixed all of those and took the dash off to make sure there wasn’t anymore wires messed up. Now I’m just stuck any help would be appreciated. It’s a d15.

Sounds like a wiring issue to me if you still have that code. Engine-running, are you getting any voltage to the IAV connector?.

I’ll have to check. But I have disconnected the iav and nothing happens. The engine doesn’t rev higher or lower. When I check the voltage what volt am I looking for?

make sure that you have the correct connectors plugged into the sensors - on the DPFI cars, both the Intake Air Temp sensor and the EACV have a 2-wire connector which can be switched - the IAT sensor connector is white in color and has a red/yellow stripe wire and a green/white stripe wire - the EACV connector is green in color and has a blue/yellow stripe wire and a black/yellow stripe wire

Ok I check the plugs there where they need to be I even switched the plugs just to see if the iacv plug would give the iat power or not and it didn’t so I’m guessing the wiring is messed up somewhere from the iacv to the ecu?
