Check Engine Light 8 flashes/blinks
Before I get an OBD2 scan for exact code, the paper clip method for the CEL on my manual '98 Civic DX is 8 quick flashes/blinks. When in neutral it idles about <100 RPMs and almost wants to stall but never does readjusting itself to 300-400 RPMs seconds later. It feels like it drives fine at regular city and freeway speeds only wanting to sputter in neutral. Prior to this the only change made to the car was adding a catback exhaust that I took on a 130 mile trip home before letting it idle in my garage for a couple minutes and then CEL came on.
According to a list online it could be 8 P1359 CKP/TDC Sensor Connector Disconnection, 8 P1361 TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption, or 8 P1362 TDC Sensor No Signal. Can anyone educate me if I inaccurately described the wrong code or if I just need to replace the CKP and/or TDC sensor(s)? Thank you!

This sensor is found inside your distributor... assuming the pick-up is damaged, you will have to replace the distributor housing. Check all of your wiring between the distributor and the ECU first to make sure no wires are pulled out, partially pulled out, corroded, damaged pins, broken/frayed wires, etc. Good continuity is a good sign that the wiring is solid.
Thank you so much for the input JRCivic1!
After using a scanner from AutoZone it was code P1362 TDC Sensor 1 No Signal and the employee recommended replacing the whole dizzy. I realize now after doing some research that the TDC sensor isn't sold separately and is part of the distributor. I'll check the wiring for sure later today.
Again I appreciate the response!
