Default ECM RECOMMENDATIONS

Im going to buy an ECM for my 95 Honda Accord Ex (Manual Transmission). Should I buy a used one from someone, a pickup parts? Or just buy a new one from the dealer? I boughr one from Auto Zone since theyre the only parts store that sells them programmed to just connect and start using your car. The ecm was bad and I had to return it. When I bought I gave them my Ecm for 53 dollars to pay less for the ecm. What sucks is that the ecm is no longer with them and i wont be able to get it back. Should I get from the dealer or just get a used one?
i plan on keeping my car for many years to come.

I can only imagine the dealer would charge you an astronomically high price for a ECU. I've always gotten mine at the local Pull and Save salvage yard for $10 or $15 to pull it yourself from a wrecked car.. if it doesn't work, you can return it and get another one...my local junkyards both always have 15+ 90s Accords. I know there are also companies that sell refurbished ECUs online, but I've never gone that route.
