Troubleshooting : Honda 2009 Civic backfires - No modifications
It just started this a few days ago. When I slow down to stop, it backfires a very loud pop. It does not do it all the time. What should I be checking to find out the problem? Will it hurt to drive it til it is fixed?

as Dragon states, kinda hard to answer when know body has a idea what you have done

Thankyou for your response. I have had the car for 1 1/2 years and have not done anything to it except oil changes. So I don’t know if anything was done to it Pryor to that. No one has said anything when I smog get it or had oil changes...

odds are you are do a tune up, cap rotor plugs and wires possibly, unless I’m mistaken most back fires are result of unburnt fuel or misfires. You need to repost this topic in the proper forum for your car, this is for forced induction cars
